It starts off like every normal tradition. But... It definitely didn't end that way. ----------- I'm sorry. This groundbreaking discovery is a little bit much. -- Skye is a normal teenager. She has her awesome group of friends, she has the normal urge to scream at people to hurry it up on the last day of school before summer. You know. The Usual. But when something opens up in front of her, birthing some sort of disgusting creature, she knows she knows she needs to live up to her potential, in that very moment, or get eaten alive. Or does she? Bobbi is destined for greatness. Always has been. But when she was kicked out of the Arts school and banished to Earth for crimes she didn't commit, she is forced to protect the Lost Souls, the ones who don't know their own path. So it's what she does. Gus has always been an outsider. No one ever spared him so much as a glance. But when She was banished to Earth, he tried with all he could to learn the Spells like no one else ever knew he could. Of course, they don't need to know why... When the portals start opening, they have to understand. This is not normal.

❝We shouldn't try to figure out every single thing in the world. Why does this happen, how does it happen? Why can't we just be content with being? Instead, the way our eye perceives color is explained, and how Earth was first formed, and everything. We fill ourselves with knowledge so much that something has to be emptied in order to make room for knowledge. So, our soul is poured out. Our appreciation for natural things are gone, thrown away. Our thirst for knowledge overcomes us. The world is a perplexity, let it stay like that. It's more beautiful that way.❞ We were made to live, not to observe. Marley Aspen knows first-hand what it's like to just get by, but to live, that's far out of her reach. Well, that is until befriending the new-girl, Sierra Ryder, shows her how to. But in unexpected twists and turns, Marley learns there is always more underneath the surface, and she gets more than she bargained for. Cover by: @leena-j
