Where there is a villain, there is always a hero.
Nowadays it's nearly impossible to watch television without some hero's face cropping up at one point or another. They're as famous as any movie or rock star, known far and wide for their heroic actions meant to keep whatever city they live in safe.
But what about the faces we don't see? The ones these heroes see every day, but we hear not a word of? Behind every hero is a family with parents, pets, even siblings.
This isn't the story of the bright-faced heroes covering billboards, and this isn't the story of the dastardly villains they fight on a daily basis, either. This is the story of the siblings standing in the shadows of their older brothers' and sisters' heroism, and how they banded together to save the world from an evil tyrant who intended to end it.

The Hero's Guide to Heroing
A story about superheroes in a modern world. Once, humans and power wielders were at war. The war brought both side to the brink of destruction, forcing peace or extinction. A tentative peace prevailed for a time. Enough to build trust between the two sides for many years. But as the two sides grew together some of the old hatreds began to stir again. Those who held these old hatreds became known as villains, while those who fought them became known as heroes. "Are you sure this will work?" one of the figures around the table ask. All are dressed in black and hide their faces. No one wants to be known to anyone else in 'this' type of alliance. "I'm certain of it. We need to simply kill the few true heroes left, and then expose the rest for the self righteous corrupt creatures they are. I've already started gathering the pieces I need." "What's the end goal here?" a third figure asks. "To purge the world of corruption and all those who turn a blind eye to it." There is a long silence before a fourth voice speaks out. "Your talking about mass slaughter. I won't be a part of this." the figure stands and begins to leave the table. "It seems there is corruption in our very own ranks.... I suppose the best place to start is within the inner vessel, is it not?" "No! What are you Doing? Stop!"

You have a pretty girl who, who always has an enemy, girl gets caught in the enemy trap, strong person defeats the monster and saves the girl. Happily ever after. The end. Roll credits. But here's the thing, you never see what happened to the villains, you never hear their side of the story, their backstory that caused them to do what they did. Maybe they were banished from the land, that's why they put Sleeping Beauty under a curse that made them sleep for a hundred years. Or maybe their family pressured them into think beauty is everything and they must be the most beautiful in the land to finally get the approval that they did something good, maybe that's why they poisoned Snow White to take her beauty. What if they just wanted to get revenge for Peter Pan taking their most valuable treasure, that meant more to them in the entire world, maybe that's why they had a growing vendetta over Peter Pan. There are many other reasons why villains did what they did, but, did these heroes ever consider that these villains had a family. Like how maybe Gaston might have had a kid who had to grow up with only one parent cause the Beast killed Gaston. Or maybe how Dr. Facilier might have had a daughter, but since he was locked in the shadow realm he never got to have that valuable father-daughter relationship with her. What if Disney is hiding something from us. The story of these kids who had to grow up without a parent or with the burden of being teased because of their lineage. Well, Disney, you may be good at making giant Marvel timelines and making us cry at the end of EVERY Disney Pixar movie. But I'm good at revealing your secrets. Society loves heroes and hates villains and is blind to vigilantes, viewing them as either unsung heroes or understated villains... I like to believe different. Everyone is human at the end of the day, some are worst or better than others. After all, some humans hide behind the title of hero to get away with horrible things like abuse, murder, theft, negligence, etc... While others hide behind the title of villain to finally be free from terrible pasts or to just simply gain freedom they never had. Then there's others that hide behind the title of vigilante to either save and protect innocents or to get rid of those they deem their enemies. Everyone has reasons and beliefs that lead them to what they aim to do in life. I'm no different. After all... I didn't end up the number one villain in the world for no reason. So was the case for Kazuma as well, as his quirk soon found itself being held accountable for Kazuma being coined the word "villain" by those around him, before he could even begin his journey to becoming a hero. His only light in this darkness being his mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that smile she treasures so much to never leave the boy's face. But... Being a human at the end of the day, she can only do so much. Follow Kageyama through his journey to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the entirety of Japan. What awaits him on this journey?
