"That was a bad move." Declan shook his head in disapproval, causing my brother to pout. "What you actually need is a nice long d-

I knew what he was going to say and so did Blaine, but I still roughly shoved him, putting Declan off balance for a second as a reminder.

All she did was try to help, that's all.

Kaira Fract had a pretty good life. Except for 1 thing.

A secret crush.

Now, if it was anybody else, she would have told them, but when it's your best friend...it makes it that much harder.

Kaira and Declan Brewer have been friends since they were babies. Their parents were friends, so they had to figure out how to get along, and they did! Maybe a little bit too well though because Kaira ended up developing an unwanted crush on her best friend.

Through the years, it never went away like expected. Avoiding him didn't help, running away didn't help, or even trying to cut ties between them. Kaira gave up and tried to act normal around him, but it's never easy hiding something from someone who knows you inside and out.

She decided if she couldn't be with him, she would pick who would. Maybe a solid relationship will stop Declan from sleeping around.

They both thought their friendship was forever, Kaira and Declan even made a pact, that now means nothing.

When a girlfriend with unnerving jealousy comes in and cuts their ties, Kaira has to realize if her feelings are truly worth going through all this pain, or if someone else would be better. Will Declan be too late to claim his happy ever after? Or just a second too late.
