There is a universe where everyone is given a specific necklace when they turn 16. This necklace is created a birth but hidden by the parents until they reach the "enlightening age" (16). The necklace is half of a unique shape, the other half is obtained by the soule mate of the necklace keeper. Peter and Piper have never met, but their necklaces match.
