CountryCore Series: Her Lady of the Lake (WLW)
From birth, Trinity saw the world differently than her peers. Not that she knew much of her peers in her childhood as she was home-schooled. However, that's all in the past. She has her own business, works hard and all-in-all, she's happy. For the most part, that is. As long as she still has her seclusion for which she has worked hard and values above all else, then she will be fine. If people would just stay away... Leah has been blind her entire life but never let it hold her back as she embraced it with open arms. She hasn't ever known any differently and life is great. Or at least, it could be with these new changes. Moving to a new town, Leah is excited to begin a new life, but her family isn't exactly shy about their protectiveness of her. If only she could be somewhere, anywhere where people would treat her just as they would anyone else. As their paths cross, Leah and Trinity's lives are forever changed, some changes for the better and others still up for debate. People can sometimes surprise us in the most exhilarating of ways, however, and they are just about to find out exactly why. [Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner] The Redding takes you if it knows your name. That's the rule that's kept Meg alive --- or awake, rather --- since the night the world went to hell. Nobody knows where the red stuff came from, but it acts like water, it's in the water, and it falls as rain every night. The people it captures drop like puppets with their strings cut. They're asleep, not dead, and they can be reawoken. But then they just try to kill you. Meg and the other survivors she's befriended think they've found a stable equilibrium, six weeks after the catastrophe began. In an empty town, there's not much to do except innovate new survival methods. Meg's crush is the one to discover that Morse Code, like writing, is a safe means of communication. That's all fine and good until the nightly rain begins. Raindrops, as it turns out, can make dots and dashes, too. The Redding can talk. And it's telling her to run. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner. I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect. The First Fae Mate
~Alpha Awards 2023 Winner~ Wattpad official Werewolf page Visena Sage knows two things for sure. Her name, and that she's part Faery. After waking in an unfamiliar realm with no memories (or clothes), Visena is dragged by the scruff to the Earth realm by two insulting and unusual strangers. They seem eager to take her to their leader, an unidentified enemy with unknown motives. However, in a potentially wonderful twist of fate, she is immediately rescued by a small group who use gibberish words to address one another. Alpha? Beta? Mates? The apparent damsel searches for answers while familiarising herself with the group's deliciously scented, cautious leader: Gideon Steel. Gideon seems intrigued by her blunt, confident approach and keeps a watchful eye on her as she navigates his strange world. Both seek answers to the same questions while feeling an unnatural pull to each other. Who is she? (Who is he?) What happened to her family? And is she really the damsel in this story?
