Around 25 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth- targeting none other than fresh genetic codes.
Humans, animals, plants, any living matter that comes in contact with it quickly faces its immense mutational power, sparking nothing but unruly destruction.
This living nightmare took more than a simple adaptation, it forced a complete overhaul of daily life. Yet, despite humanity's best efforts to do so- cities plummeted to the ground, nations obliterated in chaotic arrays of fire, countries infected by the scourge of war and madness.
Humanity was driven to the brink of extinction.
In a desperate attempt to survive these conditions, humanity came up with something to protect them.
Colonies.
A radius considered a "Safe Zone" due to the infected's inability to infiltrate its perimeter. It became the perfect habitat for the remnants of mankind to rebuild society.
On the flip-side, the infected create nests that produce genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension, attracting many others of their kind. It is assumed that their sole objective is to infect the world. Propagate. Consume.
These are called "Contamination Zones", and their increased numbers have caused dozens of Colonies, and outposts alike, to suffer breaches and irreversible changes all over the continent.
The infected are ruthlessly growing stronger.
Kayden Moss has had a glimpse into this world's horrors. Pulling himself from place to place, in order to simply awaken to fight another day. But luck was on his side, at 19 years old.
He came across a peculiar Colony named Zamaton, where he's lived for the last 3 years.
News of these breaches reach the Warden, Rhys, who demands preventive measures immediately. Kayden, unaware, is summoned to the office. He assumes it's either an important matter, or another earful regarding his actions.
Depending on the actions taken, the breaches might remain far away from the Colony.
Or so it seems.
