Shay Bentley, her older brother Grant Bentley, bestfriend Taylor, and Grant's bestfriend, Alex, go to California for the summer to visit the Bentley's mansion that belongs to their father. Clearly, their parents aren't together anymore. And Grant is totally excited, while Shay was forced to go by her mother so she could have a break.

Shay would love to give her mom a break, she just wishes she could do it at Taylor's house instead. When her dad walked out on them, she told him to never talk to her again. But when she gets there, she might like it afterall.
