The picture is Diplomat Dashing, an Elshar diplomat, saying, "Oh, no! Am I missing a pin? Habis maif!" His sash is purple because he doesn't know how to prog his clothing former. Advisors in Sigan Mas, a school that's a galaxy, stay up late at night to figure out errors the producers of Danger Service can stick in an episode for diplomatic students to find. For example, barren Elshar Mashai, capital world of the Alliance, is a treeless, sandy world but for a tiny region of farms. Episodes will show Georgia red mud, rain, and pine trees. Or items made of wood, which is very rare on Elshar worlds!

In the new year 2100, quite literally anything is possible. Take a shuttle to Earth's half of the moon! Ride the hover train to work! Work at one of the top Space Entity Negotiations companies in the country! Although these things are true, Micah Love's current life as a Lunar Inc lab assistant is best categorized as discombobulated and complacent. After three years of hard work and no promotion in sight, a microaggressive boss, and a coworker who doesn't shut up, what can she do but dryly monologue? She doesn't hate her life, but there is a distinct lack of color and meh that paints every experience. Nothingness is preferred to adversity though. That is until one night, everything's ruined by a surprise at her doorstep. Jump in on the wild ride where Micah discovers the meaning of caring not just for others, but also for herself. Another man's grief of losing his dying wife is tempered by a ghostly haunting. The first manned mission to Mars reveals a personal past for one colonist. An Indian Brave concludes a ritual as a rite of passage to adulthood. The end of the world brings a woman and her ailing father together for the last time. A man has an opportunity to right one wrong from his past and realizes the true meaning of regret. Another man's senses are replaced one by one with something alien. A golfer in the aftermath of the apocalypse sets out on a quest to keep the game he loves alive. A conversation between two sides of one man's psyche reveals something in us all. A snowbound woman holds the fate of the world literally in her hands. Once all sides of the box are revealed, the homeless man discovers the promise of a new future built on memories from a past he never had. The Box Has Twelve Sides is a collection of thirteen stories all connected as visions given to a homeless man in search of his future.
