Jason has always felt like an outsider. Filling the shoes of the recently passed Cliff Burton is no easy task, not to mention a seemingly unwelcome one, based on the reaction from Jason's new bandmates. James in particular is grieving his loss with alcohol and rage, a combination that leads to his violent night terrors. But when James's armour is cracked, it allows Jason to see the singer in a new light. Maybe there's more to him than Jason thought.

It was the eighties - a time of loud guitars, restless dreams, and parties that never seemed to end. She, Vivienne - a girl from a wealthy family, growing up in a golden cage of rules and expectations. He, James - an outsider with long hair, a guitar, and a notebook full of lyrics that burned in his soul. Their paths crossed by chance, but from that moment on, nothing was ever the same. With her, he discovered what it felt like to truly matter to someone. With him, she found a world she had never known before - a world of music, freedom, and passion. But love standing on the threshold of adulthood is fragile. Distance awaited them, relentless years, and fame that can shatter even the strongest bonds. This is a story about how two opposite souls found each other at the wrong time - and all they had to risk, just to keep from losing themselves completely.
