The Frontier is a hard place to live. Once you take that ride from Lastome and get ferried away on the Frontier River, you're putting yourself out of reach of the immediate protection of the Unified Kingdoms of Oldris and entering into the rough and tumble struggles of the Greater Western Oldris Frontier.
Destin had always been like this. Running from his problems, putting them off, ignoring them hoping that they'd just go away or that an easier alternative would present itself. Destin knew that this time, however, he couldn't just run back to his hidey-hole back at his father's smith in the small frontier village of Ever. He'd made a mistake too large to hide, too pressing to ignore. Destin knew he had to face this problem head-on, with a determination and a maturity that he'd never before displayed in his nineteen years of life.

A boy named Aiden King is living his normal teen life when his dad suddenly takes him, his cousin, and his uncle for a hunting trip in the forest. The trip takes a few wrong turns, and the four of them decide to head back. After a month passes, however, Aiden's dad decides that they should go back to the forest for a do-over. As Aiden expected though, the trip goes wrong once again. Only thing is, he didn't know that it was going to be worse then any of them could've imagined. When all the drama from the trip dies down a little, a certain someone is forced to stay with them. After a couple of days, however, this "someone" shows no sign of leaving. Then Aiden makes some friends who wouldn't exactly be considered normal in the eye of humans, and -with some of his friends from his high school- goes on a journey that nobody knew would be possible. It was supposed to be his last day on the job. Unluckily for Killjoy, this crazed, cannibalistic beast tried to make it his last day on Earth. Killjoy had taken this god-forsaken mission for a little bit extra money before he would quit. He was tired. The middle-aged bounty hunter had etched his name across American mythos after decades of killing, gunslinging, and doing dirty work for one too many fat, greedy pigs. It was easy work, but the man can't get any older after years of doing it. And with a wife at home who he visited only so many times he could them on his one hand, and a daughter whose face he can barely remember year to year, it was time to hang up the boots. But when he is told about one job that could potentially set not only himself and his family for life, but for generations to come, Killjoy decides to screw it and do one last mission. The money he made was good, but not enough to last them. The reward? The deed to a gold mine. And the job? To investigate some desolate woods for missing people. It was as easy as they came. What a load of crap. The second Killjoy stepped foot into those forests, he knew something was not right. Desecrated bodies, the eerily empty mines and woods devoid of any light or humans, and the gnawing hunger that grew in him no matter how much he ate through his rations. Something was not right. And when Killjoy laid his eyes on it, he knew it was either fight or die.Complete

His voice was hoarse as he whispered against my ear, "Shh, love. Stop being so irresistible. I want to give you something." He pulled his fingers out of my pants, leaving me empty and frustrated. My eyes snapped to his instantly, a soft whimper escaping my lips. He took out a small, velvet box from his pocket, holding it out to me silently. Curiosity piqued, I opened it to reveal a pair of delicate gold anklets, tiny diamonds and rubies scattered along the chain. I looked up at him questioningly, but he just smiled softly, taking my left foot gently in his hand. He wrapped one anklet around my left ankle, securing it with a gentle click. Then he picked up my right foot, his touch reverent. "Fuck, love," he murmured, "You look even more beautiful with these." He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to my left ankle, right above the anklet. I gasped, he smiled against my skin before kissing my right ankle as well.
