Kocho Shinobu, sacrificed her life to kill Upper Moon 2 Doma and avenge her late sister. Having succeeded this mission, she is finally at peace. Although she still had one last regret, and that regret is not marrying the man whom she loved. As such, her soul is sent back to Earth to fix this regret and to finally be truly at peace.

Tomioka Giyuu, obtained a mark to grant him power to kill Kibutsuji Muzan. In exchange for a lot of his life span. Even knowing this, he still fights on and successfully kills Muzan along side his fellow demon slayers. Although he still had 2 years to live before the mark killed him, he committed Seppuku at the age of 23 for unknown reasons. Still having one last regret and that regret is not marrying the woman whom he loved, his soul is sent back to Earth.

The two ex-Hashiras are reincarnated and since their regret is about love, faith is on their side.
