"Mrs. Clemenger, I'm afraid that if your daughter cannot get her weight up to at least 105 pounds in the next seven months before we see her again she may be permanently like this for the rest of her life." the nurse looked down at her clipboard, flipped a page, and looked back to my mother. "I might recommend checking your daughter into a rehab facility for teens or even a hospital. Putting her in an environment with other teens that have similar problems may help her overcome this disease."

My mother looked at me as a teardrop slowly took its time to climb to the bottom of her face and jump to its death. "I completely agree."
