Alec Lightwood had a successful life. He worked damn hard for it. But at the same time he was lonely. Experienced yet inexperienced. He craved love and knew he would never have it. He craved real feelings, to be loved for who he was, to be loved in a way that would satisfy him, but he knew that was an unreachable dream for him. So he buried his true self deep inside himself. So deeply that he slowly began to believe that his own false reality was real. And it worked for 28 years. The place has such an aura that of course my Malec writing brain cells almost exploded. I started writing this the same day, during my vacation. I was going to write a oneshot...but by the end (as usual) I couldn't stop. Alec is studying to be a lawyer at university at his father's insistence, but he wants to be a vet. He loves animals and reading. His father abuses him. He secretly helps Ragnor, a nearby vet. I would write it differently today. Nevertheless I'll leave it as I wrote it then. A bit clumsy, a bit inexperienced. Because I remember how much I wanted this. This was the point where my mental healing began. That's where I realised that by writing Malec stories, I was not only giving myself, but also the rest of the community, a refuge from the anxieties of everyday life. However, I plan to re- write it again because the story excites me and I wonder how I would do it with my current knowledge. If that happens, the original will still be here.
