"You have a weird look on your face," I said and his frown deepened.

"I do not," he closed his spell book and ran a hand through his shaggy hair.

"Hmm," I hummed under my breath as I smoothed the crease between his brow. He grabbed my wrist, his hand warm and firm, and pulled it down.

"Personal space."

"Sorry," I said with a small smile. Much progress had been made.

"Werewolves," he huffed, letting go of my wrist and snapping open his book.

"Warlocks," I hissed, snatching the book from his hands.

Kyda and Ibhan were opposing forces from the moment they met. But Kydas belief in mates keeps her tethered to the brooding warlock who had been happily living a life of isolation before he met her. Well, maybe not happily per se, but quietly and contently.

But soon, a conspiracy within the pack, and some magic that just doesn't add up, finally begins to widen the chasm between the two of them. A chasm they had just begun to build a bridge over. Will the rule of opposite attraction win, or will the nature of their relationship burn out just as it should?

They are not very excited that the true heir has come to reclaim what was hers before. Neither is Aiden. But the mate pull is stronger. And so is her will. "Kyara Rivers" He sneered. "Good having you back as a rogue" "Who exactly are you calling a rogue, Alpha?" She licked her lips. "I preferred to be referred as a Lone Wolf myself" He snorted "What brings you here?" She looked around as frowned. "It feels good, doesn't it? Knowing you stole something?" "I didn't steal anything" He seethed. "You better come back to wherever hole you crawled out of" "Oh, now, now, Alpha," She singsonged. "Jealously is a very ugly feeling" His nostrils flared. "I'm not jealous. I am Alpha" "Really?" She wiggled her eyebrows. "Is that why the aura I'm currently feeling is that of a Beta's?" "Hiding something, Alpha Callahan?" She suggested. ------‐--------------------------------------------------------------- All rights reserved; To the story, I do not own the cover. If it's someone's, please report and I'll remove it. This is a world where power and dominance stand above anything and everything else. This is a world where you don't want to run around in the dark. This is a world where love is nothing other than a meaningless word used to describe the indescribable feeling of having a Mate. This is a world where wolves are dominant and only the most powerful survive. This is the world Silas, a loner and the first full blooded wolf in history, was born into. The world where she must prove her dominance in order to survive. * * * Unbearable pain erupted through my body, almost instantly. Dizziness made the room swirl unnaturally and darkness threatened to take over. "Up," the Alpha repeated. I tried, but, once again, I was rendered immobile. Another large syringe full of the green and silver mixture was injected into my body. This process repeated, time and time again. My body could not handle it. The room spun in quick, repeating circles as darkness surged, covering everything I saw and felt with a thick, black blanket. I couldn't remember anything. Not who I was. Not where I was. Not who was with me. Not what I was supposed to be doing. But, as I lay there, unconscious, beginning to go insane with pain, I could still hear, still remember, him. I could remember the voice of someone I had met, not that long ago, that already meant the world to me. I could remember the feeling of our wolves connecting, all but the new fifth member of my body, who had led me to this dark, dangerous place. I could remember feeling, for the first time in years, what it felt like to be happy. I could remember his name. Heat was radiating from him, and it scorched me all the way down my spine. His breaths were falling on the back of my neck with a tingling warmth that brought goosebumps to the surface of my skin. He placed one large hand on my shoulder and wrapped my long brown hair around his other. Gently, he tugged on my dark mane, pulling my head to the side exposing my neck. Bringing his face down to the crook there, he inhaled deeply. A rumbling "mmmm," escaped him. My mouth went dry. "Are -are you going to mark me?" I manage in a stuttered whisper. Book Blurb: (albeit not a great one, the worst part of writing a story, in my opinion...) Dr. Willa Grey has developed a little bit of a performance problem... Unfortunately for Willa, the time among humans denying her wolf instincts has had dire consequences that could ultimately mean her life. Even worse, her homecoming falls on the eve of the Blue Moon Summit, when she will not only have to face her pack leaders but also some of the most powerful leaders from around the world, and she is terrified they could sniff out the truth. Just as she fears she could possibly lose her pack, and everything she has worked for, a chance encounter with a mysterious wolf on the night of the full moon ignites her mate bond and stirs her dormant wolf. Who is her mystery mate, and will he be her liberator or persecutor? Currently in the First Draft Copyright 2024 Alara Birch, all rights reserved.

I growled and faced this alpha. Once I saw his face, I lost my breath and my words. I heard pounding footsteps behind me but I couldn't tear my eyes away. A hand wrapped around my chin and head, about to snap my neck but the alpha roared. The man who had my head stopped. "Take your hands off her. Now." He growled, making his way toward me. The man immediately removed his hands. He glared at the man as he made his way to me. "Marvelous." He whispered, stroking my cheek with his thumb.
