It was dark and pouring rain. She ran as fast as she could ignoring the stinging pain in her lungs from lack of oxygen. She just barely avoided the large tree trunks and thin bushes spread throughout the forest. The rain was pounding against the terrain hard. So hard she could barely hear the blaring sirens on the roads right outside the woods. She could see the reflecting red and blue lights through the puddles made beneath her. As she ran she swore she heard someone call out something along the lines of, "Vita, your sister isn't dead!" but the rain was pouring hard, and droplets were starting to get into her eyes. Amid the sounds of the sirens and rain mixed with the blurry vision from the droplets she missed the large tree stump. The second she realized it, it was too late and the sounds were already starting to fade away as her vision darkened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ( Short story )All Rights Reserved
