Gentle Monsters

The year was 0000. The western countries were ruled by military bodies instead of citizen elected governments. But their reckless expenditure caused the resources to burn out and gradually they set out to weaken the third world bodies by prompting a bio-war and destroying their socio-economic strength.

A town in the eastern part of the globe that was once rich with natural assets is now being fought over by a dichotomy of foreign military powers. The natives of the town are imprisoned, forced to join the infantry or left to die.

As the situation worsens, eventually eliciting into a war, young prisoners are brought to The Caliber to serve as Soldiers, Assassins, Servants and Nurses.

The prevailing warfare unfolds around our primary protagonists, Blue, Daniel and Daphne.

Blue is a twenty-two year old townie whose father served in the military and was locked up for being a traitor. She was taken to prison for his crimes until she was prepared to join The Caliber. When Blue arrives at HQ, she is charmed by this new world she is thrown into. But as the war prevails, she begins to experience numerous inner turmoils about who she would be without the repercussions of the disaster that was caused to her people by the ones that she is now fighting for.

Daniel is an ex war strategist in his early thirties who experiences multiple tragic losses throughout his life. When he loses his wife to a bombing, he is ejected from his position and thrown out into the battlefield.

Daphne, a young assassin in training is desperate to get out of the town. Tormented by the choices she did not make but was rather chosen for her by her mother, Daphne struggles to find meaning and succumbs to the temptations of love.

Meanwhile, a resistance brews on the side of the town when the natives look for a way to resist military forces. However, they lack access to weapons and know that they need someone from the opposition on their side.
