Sometimes you try really hard at something but never seem to be enough. Maybe it's because of past mistakes, or from unspoken feelings within.

This is a short story I wrote when I really felt alone. The words spoken are the dark were words that were commonly played in my mind. Eventually I found my light and although things may have not gone exactly as it went in the story, this is how I felt. I hope at least one person connects to this story and maybe even finds their light in the process💜

He leans in, his breath ghosting over my skin, every inch of space between us collapsing. "Still pretending you have a choice?" His voice is soft, almost amused. My throat tightens, but I force the words out anyway. "I don't belong to you." A low, knowing chuckle rumbles through him. Fingers tighten around my chin, tilting my face up until I'm caught in his unyielding gaze. Cold. Calculating. "Belong?" he echoes, as if the word itself is laughable. "You exist because I allow it. You breathe because I haven't taken that from you, yet." Tears burn at the edges of my vision, but I don't dare look away. "Fight all you want," he murmurs, eyes scanning my face, his grip unshaking. "Scream, beg, break--I don't care. In the end, little one, you'll learn. Because every part of you?" His lips brush against my ear, a cruel whisper of finality. "Tell me" He breathed out. "Wh-what?" I stuttered, staring into his eyes. Ugh, this man didn't know how much his little actions are affecting me. "N-No, I just wanted to have a dance with you. I do owe you one" "Tell me that you're jealous" He leaned down. Our face were inches gap. His chest rising and his eyes looking down at mine. His lips were about to touch mine. I knew what he wanted and I wanted it as well. My heart thumped frantically against my chest. "Teo, what if I'm really jealous? Wh-" He pressed his lips against mine before I could finish. As soon as his lips met mine I felt a shock flow through my whole body. My heart pounded in my chest and my knees got weaker.Complete

It's Okay to Use Your Big Girl Voice
Inside you will find a mixture of both, extremely RAW and refreshingly HEALING accounts of my personal war with my past. Unfortunately, Childhood sexual abuse is far too common, and many of share similar experiences. Looking back, what I could have used more than anything was someone to tell me "You're not alone, there is a lightness through the darkness, you can heal from this and most importantly don't EVER stop telling your story to make others comfortable". I've learned that silence is the best weapon for a predator, and I for one, have never been really good at doing what I'm told. I don't intend on starting now. I wear my scar as reminder that I hold the power in my own story, it is mine to tell and I won't make myself sick keeping quiet because my truths are hard to swallow, other people's comfort is not my problem. My Goal is rather simple, to let the readers know, they too are not alone. If you are a survivor, even if you still feel like a victim, this is my personal message to you. "You are strong, and it wasn't your fault. Tell someone... tell anyone...tell everyone... We shift from victims to survivors when we speak up and tell our stories. There's nothing wrong with you, and the light will shine again. Have you ever felt so lonely you believed there was nothing left for you? Stashed away, merely forgotten. I mean you could cry and cry, yet no one would hear you. At least no one you truly once loved. Being yourself can be detrimental to others happiness, and so you down play who you are. You devalue your beliefs, your morals fall short and that hollow rock turns into your Mirror. Do you matter anymore? Would anyone care if you simply disappeared? Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
