***This story contains spoilers for the Shadow and Bone series, both book and TV. This world is a mix of the two versions of this series, and will contain elements from both. I personally have seen the show twice through, and am about to start the third book in the trilogy. Some of the elements may be wrong, but I'm writing in a slightly altered S&B universe. The only connection to the Riordanverse is Estelle's name, and a few references to her family. All rights go to Leigh Bardugo and Rick Riordan, except for the current plotline.

What if the Darkling and Alina hadn't been interrupted that night at the winter fete? What if the Darkling had caused Alina to become pregnant with a child? What would happen to this child of legend? A year after Alina Starkov tears down the Shadow Fold, she is finally able to settle into her peaceful life. There is no more war with Ravka. I send the Cut barrelling at the monster. It dissociates into nothing only for another one to take its place. Again, I send the Cut through the abomination, but it was only a diversion.
