Corpse and Sykkuno were best friends from ages 1-7 until Corpse's dad kicked him and his mother out, causing them to move from California to Oregon. Corpse ended up dropping out of school at 12 and working so he and his mother could keep a home. Once Corpse turns 17, they get the news that his father died and they move back to California. The same town they used to live in. Corpse and his mother both look for a job, despite Corpse's mother begging him to go back to school. But Corpse was fluent in three languages and knew the basics for everything. Wasn't that enough? Not to his mother. So to make them both happy, Corpse gets a job and a tutor, who looks oddly familiar.
