Sorry for the cringe cover but my face was literally the same as Hajime's for 90% of the time writing this.
Monokuma's first motive of the stolen memories didn't motivate his students enough to start the killing school trip, so he decides to provide them with another motive: backwards day.
Everyone's talent, style and personality, changes to the exact opposite for 24 hours. Monokuma hopes that this would be enough to make everyone start killing each other.
