"Mate?" Drystan muttered as he stared at the beautiful woman in front of him with disgust, she is the reason he has been feeling some type of way; a certain type of way he didn't like.

"Mate" Selene repeated after him quietly in a happier and lighter voice, staring at her fingers shyly

"How?" She quickly whipped up her face to look at him

"What do you mean how?" She asked tenderly, confusion all over her face

He stared at her for a while, he smirked evily and spoke up in a loud voice "what I mean is that I don't want or need any mate. So, I Beta Drystan of Mooncrest pack, Herby rej.."

She quickly placed her hands on his lips and looked straight in his eye "don't finish that sentence" she said quietly but firmly

Selene has always treasured the idea of meeting her mate and taking over her father's pack with him by her side. The thought of someone out there being destined to love, and take care of her for the rest of their lives, made her feel giddy on the inside and she couldn't wait to experience it all, but what she didn't know or expect is to be mated to someone who is feared by all and wants nothing to do with her; Beta Drystan.

28 parts Complete

Kyan, beta of a wolf shifter pack, is second-in-command and fiercely dedicated to his role. Heartbreak and years of chasing an elusive soulmate have left him jaded, his patience thin with his packmates. Trust is a luxury he no longer affords, and he fills his spare hours with casual company, resigned to a life without deeper joy. When the alpha's little sister returns after four years of training, she's not the kid he remembers. Her time away has shaped her in ways he can't quite pin down. Could her presence shake up his guarded routine-or will it just be another reminder of what he's given up on?
