In the distant future, the Coliseum has once again became the premier place for entertainment. As the United European Nations closes its borders to regulate itself following a string of rebellions and riots, the Coliseum Network has become the premier means of entertainment for a continent still recovering from the horrors of war, and for the world at large.
Colosseo follows one fighter, known only as "The Wolfhound", on his merciless ascent to the top of Gladiatorial Combat. Imprisoned for his part in leading bloody, brutal raids into English territory, The Wolfhound is a man fighting not for survival or glory, but for the chance to confront the man who sold out his guerrilla warband to the British Army. Trained by his lanista, Marcus Aureus, The Wolfhound is cutting a bloody swath through the gladiatorial arenas of various European countries with two aims: To reach Rome and to enact revenge on the very man who sold him out in the first place.
On his way to Rome, the Wolfhound will fight many formidable fighters, those seeking glory and freedom, those who raped, murdered and pillaged, and those who have no choice but to fight. He will also face his own mortality, his own choices and his own grappling with the choice between a life of eternal fighting or freedom.

As a gladiator he loves the cutthroat challenge of it, the comradeship of the men, the honor of fighting for his country. His desire is to fight as long as he can and when he has nothing else to offer, to go out in a blaze of glory under the open sky of the arena. It's there that he meets Aurelia. When Caius is assigned to be Aurelia's new guard, he's more than distraught about no longer being a gladiator. Aurelia isn't too fond of the idea either considering the giant of a man represents everything she dislikes about the gladiator fights. When Venus' wind grazes both of them and disdain turns to desire, both find arrangement rather to their benefit. A romance between a gladiator and an emperor's daughter is no match for marriage though, putting them both at risk when Venus pulls them together. Doomed from the start Caius and Aurelia will have to decide just how much they're willing to risk and just which door they're willing to walk through to find what they desire on the other side.Complete
