He removed his hand from my chin, and slowly slid his fingers down until they reached the red hickeys he left on me.

"How pretty" he whispered, as he slowly rapped his hand around my neck.

My stomach started to flutter. The dark look in his eyes made me feel tingly.

I liked the feeling.

Trinity Smith is a shy, sheltered, and somewhat innocent, 17 year old, African American girl, with a sweet but controlling mother who has made it a point to keep her from enjoying the freedoms of a teenager.

Having secrets was a no
Alcohol was a no
Coming home later than 5 was a no
Boys weren't allowed
Kissing the opposite sex was unimaginable
And sex......... was absolutely forbidden

But this year, Trinity is going to her dream school, Harpview High, which happens to be a prestigious boarding school.

As the new girl, and one of the few African Americans attending, she has to overcome bullying, and her classmates, who make it a point, to make her life a living hell.

Alan Mcarthy, the schools smoking hot "badboy ", also known as Ace, has been labeled, what her momma calls "a player". He seems to always invade her thoughts, and she doesn't know why.

Will Trinity get through the school year without the guidance of her mother? Will the school hierarchy mess with her new relationships? Will Alan stir things up, or will a secret Gossip Girl interfere with Trinity's new found freedom?

Avery wrapped an arm around my waist to catch me before I could get out the door. He pushed me up against the door, trapping me between his body and the door. "What's wrong?" I asked innocently. His face hovered over mine, much closer than I was used to. His gaze didn't leave mine as he spoke. "It would have been different if I had told him from the start. You wanted me to lie for you. You started this. If we tell him what really happened, he would be pissed at me for lying to him." "Stormie, you got a phone call!" Mason yelled up the stairs. The closeness between Avery and me started to make my legs feel like Jell-O, and I couldn't make sense of it. Our breathing became heavier. His eyes trapped mine. "Answer him," Avery murmured. "Uh," I stammered. I cleared my throat. "Be down in a minute!" My voice came out higher than usual. My gaze still couldn't escape Avery's. My heart raced wildly as his chest rose and fell against mine. Avery's gaze flickered to my lips. What's happening? My gaze fell to his mouth, which was moving closer to mine. When our lips meet, fire spreads out through my body. It's not a gentle kiss. It's a desperate one, compounded by months of longing and pain. My hands tangle in his hair as his roam my body. Everywhere he touches me, I feel an electric tingle. Wanting to be closer to him, I slip my hand under his shirt to trace his sculpted chest and the planes of his stomach. He shivers in response and helps me slide the shirt up and over his head. Our contact is broken only for the barest second, which is still too long for me. I wrap my arms around his neck as his hands slide under my shirt to rest on my hips and pull me flush against him. I kiss him fiercely, all the pent up longing I've felt driving me to press myself as close to him as possible. River is only too happy to respond to my intensity, kissing me back just as passionately. One second, we're kneeling on the bed. The next, he's flipped us over so that I'm lying underneath him, exactly where I want to be. Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
