For centuries vampires have always been above humans, putting them in categories such as: Breeders, Feeders, and Pets. Every 18 years vampires and humans come together for a ceremony called The Awakening. At the age of 18 three humans are chosen for each category in order to keep the peace with the human village.
Coriane is a Dhampir, a human/vampire species. But more powerful than an average vampire. She must hide her identity from all or she will be killed on sight, and the only one who knows is her mother and her bestfriend. She has dreaded the day her eighteenth birthday came. She knows the rules for the ceremony and of course she turns eighteen on that day.
All the humans are being riled up about the ceremony because something is happening that never happened before, the vampire king is making his choice at the ceremony. This has never happened before and Coriane will do anything to hide her true identity and avoid this blood sucking monster, even if it means she has to run for her life.
That's not the only problem. Strogois are now threatening the town and Coriane isn't strong enough to handle all of them on her own. On top of that Enzo, the Dhampir who went rouge hundreds of years ago now returns to steal the throne from the vampire King. Who will stop at nothing to keep his crown and protect his people. Until Coriane discovers her true mate and her secret to her life blood line.
Who will survive to see the dawn? Will Coriane finally discover her true identity?
Ari and Soren's adventures continue as Soren struggles with his new vampiric urges and a coven of witches attempts to recruit Ari for their own ends.
*****
As dark dreams plague Soren, Ari finds his new abilities difficult to control. Something is awakening within him, and as his power grows, he attracts the attention of a group of witches who call themselves the Hecataeon. They believe Ari is an emanation of the goddess Hecate - a physical manifestation of her power - and they want that power for themselves. With their relationship facing challenges from within, Ari and Soren must find a way to unite their strengths before external forces tear them apart.
