The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all in different ways. In this, my first nonfiction story, I will share with you my own experiences over this last year. Experiences through the eyes of someone that lived and spent nearly every minute of the pandemic-induced quarantine that was 2020 physically alone.

Epic dystopian road trip. Grocery store hook-ups can be awkward, sexy or dangerous-be careful what you tinder. Tabitha comes home to a grizzly scene. In an opiate haze of brain swelling and grief, she begins her odyssey fueled by jealousy, mistaken identity and social media. Matty and Elaine embark on a secret mission to the tech mecca of the west coast. Move along at break-neck speed into the dark wasteland of the pandemic; pulse throbbing like a fresh cut vein, flying down highway 69 in an Oldsmobile with a trunk big enough for a body. Wanna ride? Shadows in the flames flicker and spew forth strange figures. A cold wind twists the night into a howl. Zombie ants dance till a fiddlehead fern sprouts from their brain goop and unfurls itself like an alien tentacle. Cheap motels found in desolate storms on the flat wastelands of the Midwest promise addiction and death.
