ONE-SHOT: The Darkling dreams, right after the end of season one (Shadow and Bone).
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON ONE
This one-shot is based specifically on the show, as I did not read the books, so any information on it is based in what's known so far on the end of season one. Like the title implies, it has spoilers and information from the season one finale, so if you didn't finish yet, I recommend saving to read it after you do. I wrote it not long after finishing the season and it follows solely Kirigan, like a small stretch of what could've happened after the very last scene of the season.

A/N: It started as a Darkling x OC book. But I couldn't justify that for the second season. So, for the second season, it has become a Nikolai x OC book. (I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!) Season 1: The Darkling was quite happy to keep to himself, locking everybody out. But that was hard when a chatty hyper healer was determined to get his attention without even realising it. The one problem is that having the Darkling's attention brought a lot of unwanted attention in and of itself.
