She has been developing a good relationship with the Darkling, but jealousy induces when Alina Starkov comes to the Little Palace.

We'd been waiting for the Sun Summoner our whole lives. We were told stories about that person that would destroy the swathe of blackness known as the Shadow Fold, the place called the Unsea, the place that divided all of Ravka. A few days after Alina and I escaped the clutches of my brother, the former Ravkan general of the Second Army, Aleksander Kirigan, we parted ways. I went with Kaz Brekker and his gang of thieves, affectionately nicknamed the Crows, back to Ketterdam, while Alina Starkov and her friend, Mal Oretsev, left for other lands beyond the walls of Os Alta. In Ketterdam, I made a name for myself, aiding Kaz and the Crows in all manner of criminal behaviour, forgetting that I was ever the younger sister of the Black Heretic. But I've lost everything I've ever known. I don't know where my mother or my dear friend Genya is - sometimes, this new life is unfamiliar and uncomfortable, especially within the tight, damp spaces of Ketterdam, this sprawling criminal town that seems so big and yet so small. Or within the base of the Crows that I sometimes call home - or the feelings that I seem to feel for Kaz Brekker. Kaz and I still don't understand each other, and I don't think we ever will. Alina and Mal set off across the sea, and from what I heard, they were going in search of the second of Morozova's creatures, the Firebird. Alina hopes that with the help of the Firebird and the Stag as Grisha amplifiers, that she might be able to take down the Shadow Fold for good. Amira is living with her family and cousin Alina Starkov. While the family is Grisha and volunteers with the orphanage in Keramzin things take a turn. Alina knows what she is this time..but struggles with learning. When Alina meets Mal, they run off together leaving the Silinas behind. Amira misses her cousin but doesn't ask her to stay. it's later when all are adults that they cross paths again. Amira never went to second army so she joined first army with best friend Nicolas Stark. Being part of the same Regiment she comes face to face with Alina after all these years..but things are different for them. Alina didn't practice as she should of and Amira did..that's why when the day comes that General Kirigan is heading into first army camp..the General's initials are on her neck..being a strong grisha in hiding allows her the benefits of all Grisha. Alina notices but doesn't ask as she knew what her and Amira are but she knew she denied it for Mal.
