He's got a whole lot of respect for Marshall. When it comes to being a hard working man in the rap game that is. Dre truly loves the kid, Marshall is like his little brother or something. But he also loves Lenika too. And knowing all of the personal issues that Marshall comes with, Dre wants him nowhere near Lenika romantically.
Simply because he doesn't want Marshall to ruin her character. Ruin her as a person. Being that Lenika is innocent, and Marshall is totally corrupted.
