Aru is just a normal kid in the kingdom of Byburn, except for that her mom was the only mother in the town who never paid attention to her kid. 
One day after school, the queen and king come to her house. They need her to step in as the princess. They never had children of their own, and she was the smartest girl in her class, so she would have to do. 
She makes friends with two girls named Brynne and Mini at royal school. It is a small class of 7 princes and princesses. 
Will Aru adapt to her royal duties, or will she just get distracted by the cute boy in her class?

I don't own Aru, Brynne, Mini, Aiden, Urvashi, Rudy, or anyone else who Roshani Chokshi put in the Aru Shah series.

She didn't even know the guy, and it didn't help that he was the hot topic in all of Kara's and Aru's conversations. She knew she had to meet the dude someday, because of their mutual friend group, but she didn't expect to meet him to help him and Kara for their project. It helped her too, so what was the point in denying? Aiden knew people only liked him, and talked to him because of his looks. He knew love was a waste of time, because the guy Aiden actually was was someone who nobody cared about. But when one of his friends came up to him and told him that she had found a model for their end-of-year project, he readily accepted, not knowing that this one person would make him change his perspective. In the end, he realised, there were albums of snapshots, all overflowing with pictures of memories he never knew he wanted.
