Harry Potter was a safe haven for many minority and LGBTQIA+ communities, the fact that JK Rowling has so grievously violated the trust of these communities is disgusting and so far beyond vile. As I've gotten older I've begun recognizing the racist, sexist, homophobic, antisemitic, and transphobic themes that permeate the Harry Potter series. That said, I still adore Harry Potter and I do not begrudge anyone who will continue to enjoy the franchise and all fan-creations associated with it.
