William Jonas is desperate to escape his world. So he chooses to do that through the art of Myth and Lore. He is the nerd of his grade, always picked on, poked, or bullied. His only two friends are Maggie Loris, a girl with a broken family, Syd Phillis, whose ADHD gets him into more trouble than his family can afford, and his older brother, Alexander. But when a woman stumbles from the nearby campground, raving about her friend being destroyed by a mythical creature known as the Kelpie, Will is no longer in one of his books. He decides to find out for himself if this Kelpie is real. But with Mythical monsters roaming the woods, his friends becoming increasingly doubtful, and more people disappearing every night, Will must ask himself, is Myth and Legend really risking everything for?
