No one deserves to be happier than him. No one.

"It was a game." Trent announced, a smirk playing on his lips. Olive looks up at his towering figure and tears form in her eyes, "But, you said," she let's a sob out, "you said you loved me." She said shakily.

Trent laughed and shook his head, "I can't love, but I'll admit it was fun, this game of ours."
"It wasn't a game, Trent." Olive said letting out a sob again as hot tears stained her cheeks. Her nose was red and puffy, from crying so much. "I love you, Trent. Please don't do this to us, to me." She says between sobs.

Trent's smirk fades, "You need to feel pain, Princess."

I feel the breath of air on the back of my neck. My limbs freeze and my breath catches in my throat. The male hands grab me by the hips. I can't move. His lips are by my ear, grazing the skin, his teeth tugging on my earlobe. His breath is hot on my skin, his lips moving down to my neck. My head tilts slightly. I shake my head. He doesn't have a weapon, I do. I turn in his grip, raising my bat. He catches the swing with one hand. He doesn't even flinch. "I wouldn't do that baby." His voice is like velvet, filling up the room. His lips are back on my neck, his tongue trails over the skin. The voice, the lips, are familiar. "You might mess up my pretty face." "Pretty face, my ass." I let the bat drop to the floor in-between the two of us. I should've known. "What are you doing here?" "Besides scaring you shitless?" "You didn't-" "Don't lie, I saw what you did to those poor hangers." *** It's a game of cat and dog. A game that's lasted four years. A game that expires in three short months. It's a battle of wits, of sarcasm, of teasing one liners, of sloppy kisses that may lead to more but nothing passed physical. It's a game with no rules. And they seem to be breaking them all. Thea Shaw and Ethan Michaels have a complicated relationship. One that neither wants to come to an end. But with college nearing and feelings developing what will come of their little game? He promises her one last summer of underage fun; parties, sunsets, long talks, sweet kisses, and no talk of college until it's time to leave. There are only two ways this summer can end. Either in each other's arms or the breaking of their hearts. #4 in New Adult [COMPLETED]

She looks down to see me only in his tee shirt and then up at my face like she want's to kill me. Me too bitch, me too, don't look at my man. "Is there a problem?" I ask as she looks at the tee again. "Umm-" she goes to rasp out as I spit out the most sarcastic shit possible, "He's so big it's like a dress but, it's all worth it when he has easy access 24/7. Hell, I sit on our bed with my legs open just waiting for this gift of a man that God blessed me with." I tell her. Game on bitch.

The right side of his jaw is all purple and red. A cut on the other side of his face, which is oozing with the red liquid. He suddenly looks past the black haired male to look at us, reassurance washing over his features. It's when he sees me that his eyes widen, and the panic grows by the second. He goes from a slump to picking himself upright. He's hurt. Badly. The black haired man spins around as we walk closer in their direction. All 6 of us stop as I catch a glimpse of the face. "Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" she asks. I take the ice pack back. I nod, but it hurts. My brain feels jostled by the littlest movements. "Yeah," I gasp, holding in any acknowledgment of pain. "I'm fine. Thanks." She glances down, and I catch her eyeing my bruised shins. They took the brunt of the impact. "Football," I explain. She nods. "That's a rough sport," she says. A pause. She walks back to her desk. Then, she stops. She turns around. She looks me in the eyes. Her face is solemn. "Hit 'em harder," she instructs. I nod and almost smile. "I will." *********************************************** It's 1998, and seventeen-year-old Stephanie "Stevie" Rogers is attempting the unthinkable: she wants to be the first female football player at Truman High. Too bad the team, headed by her ex and a sexist coach, won't let it happen. Then of course there's her sexist step-dad, who can't know she's playing football or her life as she knows it would end. If it weren't for her cute guitar-playing best friend, Calvin, all hope might be lost. But with his help, and the discovery of a secret so scandalous it could rock the entire school, she may finally get her time under the stadium lights. *************************************************************************** "You're outnumbered. You need allies if you're gonna survive the season. These guys are gonna have your back. You need them." "I don't need anyone," I insist. "Ha," he hiccups. "Yes, actually, you do." He ploinks me on the nose. I scowl. "No one is invincible." I continue to scowl. He sighs. "Just trust me on this one. Okay?" My face softens a little. He's just trying to help. "Fine," I comply. "But don't expect me to smile about it." He grins. "That's too bad. You're pretty when you smile." "Shut up."
