Every child is born with brown eyes until the age of five, when their eyes change color to purple, red, yellow, blue, green, white, or black. With these eye colors come powers each eye color was given long ago. The Spectrum System is designed to place them by their eye color, ranking them and giving their name meaning. That is until one girl's eye color doesn't change. Iris Mason, at the age of five, never left her brown eyes behind, and was hidden in plain sight from the Crown. Shut inside her room, she has nowhere to go, and nowhere to run from her inevitable discovery and execution until the one day her father invites her to come see the world with him and her world shatters.
