A few days after Alina and I escaped the clutches of my brother, the former Ravkan general of the Second Army, Aleksander Kirigan, we parted ways. I went with Kaz Brekker and his gang of thieves, affectionately nicknamed the Crows, back to Ketterdam, while Alina Starkov and her friend, Mal Oretsev, left for other lands beyond the walls of Os Alta. In Ketterdam, I made a name for myself, aiding Kaz and the Crows in all manner of criminal behaviour, forgetting that I was ever the younger sister of the Black Heretic. But I've lost everything I've ever known. I don't know where my mother or my dear friend Genya is - sometimes, this new life is unfamiliar and uncomfortable, especially within the tight, damp spaces of Ketterdam, this sprawling criminal town that seems so big and yet so small. Or within the base of the Crows that I sometimes call home - or the feelings that I seem to feel for Kaz Brekker. Kaz and I still don't understand each other, and I don't think we ever will. Alina and Mal set off across the sea, and from what I heard, they were going in search of the second of Morozova's creatures, the Firebird. Alina hopes that with the help of the Firebird and the Stag as Grisha amplifiers, that she might be able to take down the Shadow Fold for good. I know that my brother, Aleksander Kirigan, did not die that day in the Fold, and that one day he would come to exact his vengeance upon his lost Sun Summoner and all of Ravka. As Kaz prepares to unleash fresh hell on old foes, and as Alina prepares to hopefully end the terror of the Darkling once and for all, I myself am preparing for a war on both sides. A war to protect my newfound friends and family, the Crows, and a war to protect my people, the Grisha.

A darklina story~How would the story end if the battle at the climax of Seige & Storm between Alina and the Darkling happened at a different place and time-After the Darkling became the reigning king. What would have happened if the Sun Summoner surrendered? Alina Starkov struggles with her feelings towards Aleksander and protecting her country. She is forced into decisions that she did not want to make while at the Grand Palace. The Sun Summoner loses even more control over her life after her marriage to the Darkling. She must gain back control and find a way to save Aleksander's humanity; the lives of innumerous innocent people depend on it. This story is based on the Shadow and Bone trilogy combined with the Netflix show. Characters and universe created by Leigh Bardugo. ___________ Once I have calmed down, he lets go and leans back in his chair placed beside me. The Darkling just sits there and stares at me, observing me the way he always does. Moments pass, I become frustrated and snap at him. "Well? Are you going to yell at me? Hurt me? Tell me how you are the only one that I am equivalent to in my eternal life, so I should rely solely on you? He raises an eyebrow. "All of those would be sufficient options, but no." I scoff in response before asking, "then... what are you going to do with me?" He reaches out and traces the features of my jaw and face. He replies, "well that will depend on you." "Me?" I ask warily. He moves a strand of hair out of my face and continues to caress my cheek. "Yes," he exhales. "I don't want you to hate me, Alina. It is up to you to decide whether you want me to be your villain or your husband." #1 darklina 10/24 #1 shadowandbone 12/22 #1 fantasy-romance 2/24 #1 darkling 8/24

33 parts Complete

Arabella Oretsev was tested at the age of 8, and has been proclaimed a Tidemaker, and also has a weak secondary power: a Healer. She now lives in the Little Palace along with the other Grisha. She has been developing a good relationship with the Darkling, but jealousy induces when Alina Starkov comes to the Little Palace. (I do not own Shadow and Bone or the Grishaverse. That belongs to Leigh Bardugo)(I only own Arabella Oretsev)
