Hara and Plim have been questing together for years, adventuring beyond their homes and discovering the world as paid questers (they've also dethroned a few kings along the way). When they are asked by a witch of few words to take on a job, they think it will be simple: go into the forest, find the troll, take back what it stole.
Only... revenge has a way of taking even the simplest job and turning it on its head.
And when princes, heroes and old flames show up, the forest is the least of this trio's problems.

As she masters her skills, she, along with her friends, are given the opportunity to leave and earn her freedom. It's the first step in finding herself and her answers and perhaps it could change her life in ways she couldn't imagine when she was taking everyone's orders in the kitchen.
