The clouds were resting tiredly over the sleepy forest, blocking the light moon beams from reaching the tree roots down below. Fireflies' vague lights twinkled here and there through the fog. Crickets chirped loudly everywhere. The only thing you could hear besides the drowsy night sounds was distant howling. One would have normally thought that the eerie sound was that of a wolf's, however, it had a different feel to it, something hollow... or empty... as if it was a cry of loneliness or sorrow.
