One royal servant's miserable life is turned around on one fateful night, when the infamous von Kronberg family reappears in public for the first time since the war ended three years earlier. Rumors immediately spread, most figuring they were only returning for the opportunity to woe the newly eligible princess and the royal family for her hand in marriage. But after a young von Kronberg becomes interested in the servant's unique features and attitude, and even breaks all the social laws and taboos to start a conversation, the servant is able to find a reason to live and fight another day.
