A warlock is found to be able to contact spirits at will by his foster parent, who also happens to be a judge.
Realizing how much potential this holds in solving crimes, which otherwise under biased condition let the criminal walk free, they go on a spree to solve old murder cases, avenging the spirits and bringing the guilty to justice.
