Thana joined the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when she was 22, and for 5 years she dedicated her life to this job. She was one of the first people to encounter Loki's scepter after the battle of New York, seeing as during this time she was a captive of Hydra.

In those five years she worked with Fury, whom trained her and let her become apart of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with hopes that one day she could join the Avengers.
