The story of a samurai girl from a Japanese island from when her clan was destroyed when the mainlanders became industrialized and raided all of the islands plundering and looting them.
Now it's 1919 the First World War has just broken out and the battles are in the skies with all types of airships and aero planes.
Will Kirai survive only being 19 years old and only half of her samurai training done? We wait to see!

My name is Jenny Ridout, Captain Ridout, if we're including useless titles. Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to be a fighter pilot. I imagined easy missions, escorts and the thrill of flying. I never thought I would be stuck on the ground with the special forces. As the battle dragged on, I came to realize, if my comrades were to make it out, I had a decision to make. Our lives are on the line. How far would one go to save their comrades? Their friends. Would you risk your life, knowing that it's more than likely you won't return home. Hello, (author speaking.) This book is far from complete. It sort of functions as a stand alone short story, however I am working on writing a medium length novel. The short story on Wattpad is more of an extremely condensed version of the middle of the book. I set out to write a short story, and ended up with twelve thousand words in the first chapter. I promptly gave up on constraints and decided to make it into a complete novel. If anyone is interested in reading the complete story, which (unlike the wattpad version, will be thoroughly edited and will progress past a first draft😂) if anyone wants to read the full book, it will be on Apple Books, eh... eventually. It's coming along slowly, I have three other books in the go at the same time. Also being a violinist which takes up much of my time. 😁 This book is completely original and I own all rights to Vancouver Wings and all its characters and contents. This is what Yami wanted all along: living a normal and peaceful life, with the woman he loves the most. However, Yami's life isn't exactly normal to begin with. Yami is a powerful warrior that fights of the way of the ninja...or samurai...or whatever you want to call it. Yami also has a power that is long forgotten, a power that was discovered back in the 12th century. During the day, Yami is a very speedy and powerful warrior that fights off enemies as his girlfriend is his "girl in a chair", well, usually as Yami sorta gave up on that life as he really doesn't view himself as a hero and he doesn't want the attention, just a normal life for once. However, during the night is a different story as Yami becomes a dangerous beast, a werewolf, with unimaginable strength. This form is a curse for Yami as he had that form for almost 2 years, with no signs of a cure to get rid of it. It was his arch-nemesis' fault that he became like that, and now Yami has to live the rest of his life as a true monster. One day, both of the young couple thought about taking a vacation, going to a place far away, just to get away from everything. So, they took their very own plane and flew off into the skies. Everything was going so well so far, but they got attacked, making Nikki, who was piloting the plane, crashed. Unfortunately, the crash made Yami and Nikki separated from eachother. Now, on one of the unknown islands, Yami must travel and beat up baddies, finding Nikki and meeting new people along the way, mostly more girls, who will soon fall in love with him.
