In the year 1917, The kingdom of Anglor faces tragedy after each past one. Inhumane crimes hide under the veil of rising political tensions of the nine empires. Soon brothels and drug cartels overthrow the power of the kingdoms, leading to an unprecedented invasion by foreign forces.

The trade of flesh and opium becomes the holy grail for the ultimate glory, with millions fighting in the battle for the throne of the high king. The nine kingdoms unknowingly open an unprecedented chapter of destruction when a foreign merchant trades a lost map guiding to a concealed field of opium found in the core of the Mourning forest of Bestem.

The current empire starts to draft expeditions in the hopes of unearthing the cradle of poppies, yet with no survivors in each one. Until the rumors of an ancient witch spread fear and hysteria across the kingdoms.

With unsuccessful attempts multiplying, the emperor places a deadlier bid; any prisoner who would extract the opium from the forest would be made the high king.
