Lunar Macbelford, an 18 year old high school graduate wants to go to SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.) Her mother forbids her from going to school because she believes women should stay home and take care of household stuff including children when she has them. She abused Lunar her whole life and now at 18 Lunar is standing up because her dad who divored her mom because of the way she treated them had been also trying to help her and he taught her independance. She leaves home with her pet cat Shadow and takes her belongings which wasn't much since her mother never cared for her at all. She also had an acceptance letter from SAIT but never opened or read it because her mother found it and threw it in the fire. She moved in with her best friends Taylor and Sarina and had started youtube and she was looking for a job when her first video to the new channel blew up and she started earning money. She saved up enough and had credit to buy her first house. She soon emailed SAIT and explained to them what happened with her Acceptance letter and if she could still get in. The person who emailed her back was in fact her childhood best friend Gunner Smith's Mother. She talked with her on the phone for most of the night and told her what had been going on and that she moved into her own house. Gunners mom had showed up at her door and they talked in the kitchen over some coffee and such she explained that Gunner had missed her and wanted to talk but was afriad her mother would scream at him as she did with most of her friends that came over she never let her have friends over even if they were girls. She then goes with her best friend Taylor and gets some school supplies that she was told to get and had a list with and while having Starbucks and talking Gunner shows up and asks Lunar if she like to be more than friends and try and see how their lives go.

Dinners With The Dog

Callie Jackson is used to family drama. She spent a fair amount of her childhood dining with only her dog, Hambone, while her parents "talked" behind closed doors. With the ink barely dry from her parent's divorce papers, Callie was presented with a new half-sibling, courtesy of her Father's one night stand. This event scandalized her small Indiana town so much that she still gets funny looks from grocery store clerks, even though her little sister is now eight. Now Dad has a new girlfriend, whose daughter is Callie's age and just so happens to rule the school in a dictatorship-like style. Throw her Mom's new boyfriend, a lawyer-who-enjoys-golfing, and his semi-awkward son into the mix, and Callie definitely has a full plate. Despite everything, Callie loves her family, even the members she doesn't share DNA with. But with this much history, there's bound to be secrets. And Callie has a pretty sizable one of her own: she runs one of the most popular and aptly titled blogs on the Internet, Dinners with the Dog. She ends every post with "Anonymous xx," keeping her identity secret from the world. When her Dad starts displaying some shady behavior, and the stress of keeping quiet about her blog starts getting to Callie, she must decide whether she wants to keep her family close and the secrets closer, or if she's willing to gamble with honesty and risk losing it all.
