Sydney Washington also known as Syd, had a normal summer planned staying home in Lake Forest Illinois, where she was notorious for being the principals daughter that also happened to be one of the biggest party girls in the 10th grade. Her summer was destined to be filled with boys (specifically Alex Smith her boyfriend), drinking, and hanging out with her best friend Emma Kaymen. But this year all of those things don't seem so appealing anymore, but she could never risk her rebellious reputation. After all, that's who she is, right?
When Syd's mom gets a job Nantucket, Massachusetts for the summer she knows she finally has a chance to reinvent herself completely. When she meets Will a goody two shoes from down the street will she break her and her parents strict rules for the summer? Will she change for the better or resort back to her old ways of drinking and partying just to feel something?

Hope can't contain herself then, and does so many reckless things; she might end up getting hurt- and on the wrong side of some people. Maybe even find out things she had forgotten - and wish she had never remembered. As more and more people enter her life, more and more situations she delves into. An old friend comes back, new friends are made and jealously rises over her. She makes choices that are bad which might make her career and friends just.... disappear. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad.
