[My nubile body ripened with lustful desire for every inch of this Seraph of a being. Finalizing our orally initiated bliss he steps back as his nimble fingers gracefully prance across the fleshy meadows of my thighs. My orbs soaking up the beautiful illustration of Maverick before me. My blood rushing through my body like Grand Rapids, drowning out any argument to stop, slow, or refrain from fully engaging his scrumptious body with mine. His black sweat pants gracefully serving my greedy eyes every inch of his swaying appendage, like a waiter serving the finest hors d'oeuvres. I willingly accept, being the only guest in attendance. "I missed you mama." Lust and desire threaded through his words like a needle and thread through the finest of silks.] Fuck a get even in New York we one up a bitch. When you try to hold us down we claw our way to the top. "Get it how you live", our famous motto in the concrete jungle. Almost broken by the death of her parents and rape by a foster brother, Lyric Fyre knows all too well the struggle of the concrete jungle. Catapulted into the life of a stick-up girl, a hustler, and college student; juggling immeasurable responsibilities and secrets. Come along as Lyric braves the trials and tribulations life throws at her. Along for her wild journey of self-exploration are her best friends, new family, and possible love of her life. Will Lyric allow her circumstances to break her or will she be the rose that grows from the concrete? Will she be burned by her past or will she be the wild Fyre that consumes everything in her path? #1 Black Love of 8.2k 3/2/21 #1 Perseverance of 1k 12/18/23 #7 College Love of 741 3/10/21 #8 Black Girl Magic of 1.82k 12/21 #16 Strong Women of 1.05k 3/8/21 #57 Survival of 39.1k 3/10/21 #13 Erotice Romance of 9.31k 7/4/21 #1 BlackWomanBlackMan of 1.18k 5/2022

'... are my words enough?' Many themes and issues run through this collection, interwoven with each other, knitted between poems, so much so this is less of a collections of poems more of a continuous narrative. When I write, I'm constantly inspired. Imagery, characters and metaphors present themselves to me, I don't ever desperately start searching for them. The main inspiration for 'Loudspeaker' was the young people speaking up for what they believe in and fighting for the world they deserve. In their activism, they've taken the issues of today's world and used their voice to turn it into art. To turn the inequality into something empowering, hopeful and genuine. Art mirrors life, so 'Loudspeaker' is about the exact same thing. Finding your voice and creating light in darkness. Written between July and December 2020
