"You know it's about you reet?" he grinned awkwardly. It was cold outside our work, he looked cold with only his black tshirt on, scratching the back of his neck, dimple popped with his self concious smile.

"What is?" I asked, not playing at dumb the way he smirked and said he knew I was.

"The song love," he said, smile fading as he looked me in the eyes. I couldn't hold his gaze for long and he couldn't really hold mine. The two of us glancing down at our shoes in sync, more alike than we realised.

He once told me no one knows the real him.I didn't think he meant it, and not in a good way. He is a straight A student, and everyone knows it, not to mention he is on the swim team. All that though isn't the real him, the real him hides deep within himself. ---------- "Can you please tell me what that was?" I nearly shout at him. All I get is silence. He keeps his back to me. "Please, I need some explanation." I beg. I stay still as he stops dead in his tracks. His body is tense and it's scarring me. He turns around slowly to face me with his hands at his sides. His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he stared across the table at me. I could seriously drown in his eyes. He was intoxicatingly attractive and he had to know it. That's why he was acting strange around me. For some reason, he looked at me as if I was the only one there with him. As if nobody else were here. And his voice... it pained me. It actually pained me with how utterly seductive and husky it always sounded. And the way he smelled all the time. I don't know why he smelled so strong, but I didn't mind. He smelled like evergreens and a hint of mint. It sounds like a bad combo, but it dizzied me with how lost I got in it. The thought of not being able to control myself, my thoughts and feelings and body when I'm around him, infuriated me. I was so good at holding myself together now, and he just unraveled me so easily, leaving me a mess. I wasn't the slightest bit afraid of him, and I had no idea why either. Just being in the same room, I felt like I didn't have to look over my shoulder. I didn't have to worry. I didn't even know who he was, and he still drew me in. "So, you were in California before? Why did you move?" Grace Hatfield asked, looking at him. She is our school's college and career advisor. She took me in and adopted me a couple years ago. She even gave me her last name. A saving grace. Why had she invited him here? Why did he come? He turned to her with a smile and a shrug. "Guess I just hadn't found what I was looking for yet." Something about the way he said it, sent a shiver down my spine. Why did I feel like there was so much more meaning behind his words than he was letting on? "Well, I hope you find what you're looking for." Grace said, and he turned to me with a devilish smirk and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Something tells me that I will."

"Humans. You always have to go sticking your nose where it just doesn't belong. There are repercussions but you silly mortals think everything revolves around you," he cooed in a deep voice. He turned me to face the wall and I felt his warm breath curling on my ear as he buried his nose in my hair. "Get off me. Let me go, creep," I tried to struggle out of his tight grip. He refused to let me go and let out a dark chuckle, a tight grip on my wrists as he pinned them to the wall by my head. He took one last deep breath. "You're going to learn not to go sneaking around, love," he smirked deviously. Before I could stop him he bit into the vein in my neck, taking deep gulps of the crimson liquid spilling onto my shoulder and seeping into the fabric of my shirt. I felt myself get dizzy and I curled into the man before falling into a deep sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Imagine being forced into an entire other world you didn't even know existed. Ella Darling was an ordinary art history major in college until she had pressed the wrong button on an elevator and saw their world. She didn't know what was what nor did she have the time to figure anything out before she was being claimed by the dark vampire, Tom Keifer. Tom Keifer; recluse, outcast, introvert, billionaire, had been looking for love as long as he could remember. He had it all; every girl wanted him, he was extremely well off from a very successful business, and he had all the power he could ask for. One thing was still missing in his life despite everything he had. He was about to give up on love until he saw her. He smelled the blood running through her veins from a mile away. Knowing a human shouldn't have been where she was he found his way over to her. All he knew was two things: One, she was a mortal. Two: He would stop at absolutely nothing to make her his bound mate.
