They've been fighting since childhood, at recess, in hallways, across cafeteria tables. Every time. Over nothing. Over everything.

Khalid, a.k.a "Lido"- The stereotypical bad boy, loud, popular, loved, obnoxious, maddeningly stubborn. Untouchable.
Terrence was the one he made a target.

But high school flips the board.

Because now, Terrence has one goal: ruin Khalid's life. Make him pay. Make him sweat. Maybe even make him cry. So he follows Lido to his turf, same school, same football team, same locker room and decides it's payback time. The slow, personal kind. One tackle at a time.

Only, revenge gets complicated when a hotel is held at gunpoint and the two of them end up locked inside a locker room with barely any space to move, pressed together, breathe shallow. And one of them is very naked. And it's not Terrence.

It's awkward. Very. Excessively so.

But something happens in that awkward position. When something- shhh.

Anyway, revenge has a way of softening at the edges when you're pressed up against someone in breathless stillness, listening to nothing but the sound of your own heartbeat and theirs. When you're close enough to feel the heat of someone's skin in silence so thick it could drown you. When you're breathing in the same still air, pretending not to notice where your hand landed.

It's really awkward. A crazy situation, honestly.

But it changes.
Because there's no way Lido, stubborn as hell and deep in denial wants to be gay.
And there's no way Terrence is gonna pass up the chance to make him crawl a little. Maybe put him under him, metaphorically or... you get the gist.

Only, it doesn't go so simply.
Nothing ever does.

This was never supposed to be a love story.
And maybe it still isn't.

Or maybe it is.
Who knows. Life's weird.
