Nirwen "the weeping maiden" her name rings true. For very rarely in her short life has it seemed that her eyes have been dry of tears. On a voyage to Mirkwood to trade her blades for supplies she is caught in an ambush. Injured and taken to the healers in the palace she awakens to an odd child. Stunningly bright and curious she is drawn to him like a moth to flame. The stories he tells of his father and the longing to be near his father touches her. She finds in the boy a friend. Tragedy is not far behind when the boy's father arrives badly burnt and hopeless. She tries to keep her young friends occupied. Eventually she knows she has to help his father as well. How can she a commoner help a prince? Thranduil had felt dragon flame. He had survived but can this sorrowful maiden drag him into the light? (M for later chapters)
