The Kingdom of Bluemere is at war. It is one of many who are struggling to defend their borders from the powerful ice-nation in the north, Adderak. For hundreds of years, king after king have attempted to end Adderak's thurst, but to no avail. The territory is enormous, stretching across the great northeastern peninsula. It grows every day as it continues to take smaller neighboring territories. The new king, Alain Greylock, has made conquering all of Modea his personal plight. Queen Beadu Winterle has known this war her entire life. Her childhood was a blur, but for the past eight years, she's sat in her husband's shadow as he's sent thousands of soldiers to Adderak's border. Bluemere, Gladith and Lapi are the only kingdoms left on the northeastern side of Modea. They are the continent's only hope. If one of them should fall to Adderak's clutches, the rest of Modea won't stand a chance. Each day, King Alain's shadow inches closer and closer, until Bluemere faces a tremendous loss. In a routine border patrol, King Hagan of Bluemere and his men are ambushed and he is fatally injured. The Elder King, Orestes Winterle is bedridden with sickness, and Beadu has failed to conceive any heirs to claim the throne while Hagan is comatose. She is forced out of her life of solitude to lead a kingdom fighting a man's war. In a desperate attempt to save her people, she does what no other king has dared to do before her-- request and an audience with King Alain. Join Beadu through heartbreak, love, treachery, and lies as she fights to desperately protect her people from a threat far greater than she imagined. Time is her enemy, and she can no longer tell the difference between friend and foe as destiny leads the young queen to open doors that should have forever remained sealed.

Twelve-hundred years ago, the first king of Sacreon led a rebellion against an empire of witches. The war for who would rule next continues to this day. A false guise of peace came over Ert after two genocides, but there is no one so foolish as to claim the fighting is done. A prophecy claims that war will return to Ert when the moons are full once again on Ascenday. That day is growing closer now, and there is not a fool in the warring nations who does not dread its coming. In the midst of this all, the heirs to Sacreon struggle to find their place in this world of kings and knights and gods and elves and witches. A princess falls for someone she cannot hope to have, prince travels south to broker an alliance, a warrior seeks vengeance for the death of her sister. and the heir to a long forgotten kingdom quests for glory. Behind all of this, one man journeys north to an island of long forgotten magic with plans of justice, and The Wolf Witch goes west, searching for the one who can stop this war and unite Ert once again: The Silver Girl. Note: The Wolf Witch is meant to be a prequel to this book, and Sora will make an appearance, but she will not be a main character. By the way I take huge inspiration and influence from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones so if you like that you'll probably like this (and my other writings I hope). Cover created by the most excellent @apprehensiveanne. It's very cool.
