Like Hinata and Kageyama, Kenji and Tenma hated eachother at first. But they soon became friends and started dating in their last year in highschool, now graduated, Kenji is a well respected and popular volleyball player as well as bsing the captain and ace for Japan's National Volleyball Team. Before the practice match with Nekoma, Keishin had asked him to help train Karasuno's current volleyball team. So they can be ready for the match.
