"Gabriel-Ernest" is one of the darker tales written by Saki. Unlike the better-known "Sredni Vashtar", however, its tone is wryly humorous. Although it is often included in horror and supernatural anthologies, the story is generally regarded as a dark comedy.

It does tell of suicide and other sensitive topics. Told in hopefully a respectful way. The idea was for this to help me sort through my past and help my present state of mind. After saving Gabriel -- the supposedly dead archangel -- from Abbadon's cruel grasp, Sam finds himself in a completely alternate world. Literally. He's not a Hunter.
